Inspiration can truly come from anywhere. Whilst scrolling through Instagram one day, I saw a stunning Art Deco ring with a ruby embedded in it and I wondered what kind of character could I design based on that? And here she is. #6 of 31, I had to include a few comic-inspired cartoon characters in this series of drawings. And Jenny Wakeman was top of the list. I loved "My Life as a Teenage Robot", such a fun show with great design and it totally gave me the best unrealistic expectations for teenage life.

#27 of 31I really came to like Magik in "Uncanny X-Men". I loved her mentor-protege relationship with Dr. Strange and her general superpowered abilities while being very controlled. AND Illyana didn't abuse her powers in the run I pored over. I liked that take on her a lot.
